Born and raised in the south of France, Valentin Raffali started cooking at a very young age and quickly made a name for himself with his creativity and authentic style in the kitchen.
After working at Harry Cummins in New York, he began experimenting with his own style, creating dishes spontaneously, focusing on intense flavours and cooking over flame and charcoal. It is said that Val cooks the way he likes to eat, spicy.
On his return to France, Valentin opened Livingston in his home town of Marseille with Harry Cummins, Julia Litton and Laura Vidal. The restaurant quickly caught the attention of foodies around the world for its modern comfort food, organic wine selection, smoky charcoal flavours and, of course, loud music all night long. Livingston was voted best French wine bar by Le Fooding in 2022.
